Ultimate Roofing is a family-run roofing business based in Richmond. We've been restoring, re-roofing and repairing homes across the top of the South Island for over 15 years.
Our story
Built on the simple idea that roofs should be done properly.
Ultimate started in 2010 from a single ute, a ladder, and a frustration with how badly some roofers were treating Richmond homeowners. Quotes that ballooned mid-job. Crews who didn't turn up. Roofs that leaked again two winters later.
We figured the bar wasn't that high: turn up when you say you will, charge what you quoted, use the right materials, and leave the section tidier than you found it. Fifteen years and 400-plus roofs later, that's still the whole strategy.
We're small on purpose. Two crews, owner-operated, working only as far as Murchison in one direction and Golden Bay in the other. That way the same people who quote your job are the people who turn up to do it.

We tell you what your roof actually needs. Sometimes that's a $400 repair, not a $40,000 re-roof. We'd rather earn the trust now than try to upsell you.

Fixed pricing in writing
Itemised quotes, line by line. Materials, labour, disposal, the lot. If we hit a surprise (rotten battens, a structural issue), we stop and call you before doing anything.

Photos at every stage
You get progress photos every day via text. So if you're at work and your roof is being stripped, you see exactly what's happening on your house. No mystery.

A workmanship guarantee that means something
Ten years on re-roofs, five on restoration coatings, full manufacturer warranty on materials. We're still here, we still answer the phone, and we honour the guarantee.
